The Regensburger Christmas fair got a price from an independent jury for one of the ten nicest Christmas fairs in the whole German speaking area (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
Since 1796, he has a century old tradition on the Neupfarrplatz. Many artists like glassblower, potter, boob, chandlers, etc. produce their art-craft goods partly also on site and offer them to the customers.
Culinary pleasures, in particular regional specialities like blueberry mulled claret from the Bavarian Forest or apple mulled claret of "Oberpfälzer Streuobstwiesen" from the Rhineland litter fruit meadows find also big reminiscence like the ' original Regensburger sausages ' or the 'Regensburger' of the grill which are enjoyed with sweet mustard, horseradish and cucumber in a crunchy bun. Of course gingerbreads, burnt almonds, roasted sweet chestnuts and many other delicacies are also not absent.
The festively decorated booths as well as the for christmas decorated child driving shops take pleasure to big popularity.
Almost daily performances of the world-famous 'Regensburger Domspatzen' on the stage and also performances from music schools, song associations, trombone choirs and groups from abroad. Every Wednesday the Santa Claus comes for visit and presents the little ones with sweets.
The Christmas fair takes place every year of Thursday before the 1-st Advent up to the 23rd December and is opened daily 10.00 to 20.00 o'clock.
